Can’t Stop The Serenity 2024 – $2,397 + $2,000 matching = $4,397
Our first event of the year was our annual Can’t Stop the Serenity film screening! We visited the Core planet of Beaumonde and the infamously shady Maidenhead bar!
Due to some unseen powers in the verse, we had to change the charity at the last minute, however, we selected a Browncoat favorite, The Utah Humane Society. Luckily, the timing allowed us to make our donation during their “gift matching” campaign, effectively doubling our $2000 donation to $4000!
We used the rest of the credits ($397) to secure some cargo of blankets, toys, treats, litter, and other supplies that we donated in person last Saturday!
Remembering Shawna – $120 + $5,000 (donation pending)
As part of our 2024 fundraising, we have created a commemorative patch that honors her legacy of always adding a hidden flamingo to her costuming. The Remembering Shawna patch is a limited-edition re-creation of her iconic pink flamingo pin.
100% of proceeds from this patch will be donated to the charity “Behind the Scenes” and the final proceeds are expected to total $5,000.
Behind the Scenes provides grants for entertainment workers to help with basic needs, recovery from illness, mental health, therapy, counseling, and funeral assistance.
FanX 2024 – $3655
Our epic misbehaves brought us to FanX once again at the annual fall event. Our final donation total was boosted by the amazing work of two of our Board members which by itself raised nearly $1,000! Created by Board Members Kaeleigh and Karina, their loving dedication to the craft was wonderful addition to our 2024 event, and the big announcement was held at our Dr. Horrible screening, with the lucky winner Bethany present in the crowd to receive the prize!
Our chosen charity was a brand new charity, the 1999 Collective, and unlike many groups where we simply donate online, in this case we hand-delivered the check to the group! We think the image below says it all, so we are very happy to continue to donate to this very worthy cause!
